Ramón Jiménez Cárdenas
(he/his) (b. Oaxaca, México)My work involves thinking with and against modernity, and mestizaje; thinking of myself as an artist whose subject matter is design, and how the western world is designed. I draw inspiration from the tropic and found objects that develop into functional works, installations, or moments to share research.
Also a curator at https://laclinica.art/

<For the occasion of Knowing Otherwise - DAE Research Festival>
Reading of a writing devoted to coming into terms with the ways in which we know how to love.
When my grandma wipes down [the dust on] the dining table, she doesn't really clean anything, dust particles are just moved from one place to another. Dispersed.
What is an extraction if materials never leave this world?
An extraction is usually thought of as gathering the materials needed to build something, as if what was there before wasn't already a thing.
You extract me, an orgasm, "some call this being human, but you already know it's the briefest form of forever yes."
